Hopkins is a small coastal Garifuna Village located 2.5 miles away from Fresh water creek long-term Rentals. Hopkins Village started off as a fishing and farming Garifuna community with a population of 500 Garinagu. Now Hopkins Village has grown to a population of 2,500 people. Hopkins is now known as a popular tourist destination in Belize, Hopkins was recently voted “The Friendliest Village in Belize” by Belize’s First Magazine.
Hopkins Village is the place to visit if you want to experience the true Garifuna culture and interact with friendly people. Hopkins Village is separated into two main transects; the Northside (Baila) and the Southside (False Sittee). It is surrounded by the Maya Mountain Range, and the Caribbean Sea on its shore.
